Chanel’s Antaeus is the only perfume in a similar vein to Kouros . A civet-laden, woody, musky fougere, heavy on the jaw-clenched bitterness of artemisia, it is a unique marvel of olfactory art. Somehow both divinely clean – like a disinfecting tussle with a bonfire – and sacrilegiously filthy, it’s monolithic, recognisable and detailed.

It is similar to the Animalic used in the latest Hermes Eau d'Hermes. In Kouros I am more disturbed by the very strong, in-your-face floral notes than by the civet note (which is not exactly a human BO note, like the sweat note of cumin in Eau d'Hermès or Déclaration, but rather an animalic, urinous note).
