The standard Paraty has the thinner strap, the thicker strap you mention is typically found on the Military Paraty which (I think) is limited edition and has other features, such as the strap and handles usually being a different colour to the bag itself. I have seen in person the snakeskin Paraty in BOTH small and large at the Chloe boutique. I saw the large Paraty in Old Pink snakeskin and it was GORGEOUS!! IMO the small/medium is quite roomy. Mine fits my wallet, makeup bag, keys, sunglasses, notepad, scarf, and a small cardigan, even. I love Chloe leather and the bag is really great quality. The design is unique and at a decent price point given its size and durability. It is comfortable to carry on the shoulder and looks good when held by the handles. Paraty medium in Jungle Brown was my first ever designer bag seven years ago, and my greatest love. I never buy to sell, but for keeps (and my collection is limited, and 100% used). I've since bought LV, H and Mulberry, but if my house were on fire, it's Paraty I'd save (and second, the Bayswater tooled Darwin chocolate).

The Paraty is a unique shape and also comfortable to carry either way. The one real difference in terms of how you can wear each bag is that the Marcie strap is long enough for the bag to be worn cross body but if you're tall, the Paraty strap is too short to . So, a couple years ago, I bought a Chloe python Paraty in black just like the one Rachel Zoe carries. At the store, there was a golden colored python one on display. It was to die for, but since it was a store display, it showed little signs of wear and tear. Then the sales person brought out a brand new black one, and I was sold.
