I’ve been wanting to purchase a grey St Louis PM for a while now but have been .Ive seen people complain about the vinyl dye melting and transferring, but I’ve never seen .Hey I’m getting my first ever Goyard Artois next month but I’ve seen many negative reviews . This summer, and I know I live in NYC, but we keep our air on, the sealant on the handles did start to melt- they stuck together and then when I put it on a bench against my wall, it stuck to the wall and left a small orange mark.

I’ve been wanting to purchase a grey St Louis PM for a while now but have been wary due to the many comments about the handles cracking, melting etc. From my research it seems like the handles had some problems with the sealant melting but this was a few years ago. Ive seen people complain about the vinyl dye melting and transferring, but I’ve never seen anyone have the same exact issues with the handles deteriorating.. hopefully this is just an isolated incident/QC thing. It's not natural wear and tear, it's a known manufacturing issue. Goyard know and don't care (they have other issues too, apart from cracking straps, your white will likely discolour pretty fast). They will give you the runaround for months and charge you a fortune for a repair. The Artois shoulder straps are also the longest of the three bags, making it a more comfortable fit as an over-the-shoulder bag. One complaint about the St. Louis smaller PM size is that the handle strap is sometimes too short for wearing on the shoulder over a thick winter coat. Another thing to note about the Artois is its size. The top handle drop is nice and roomy, to make the bag into a shoulder bag. It can also be carried in your hands, or in the crook of your arm. It comes with a small matching removable pouch/wallet to hold credit cards and cash. Convenient to use, and can be removed to take into the store with you.
Same thing happened to the handles - sort of ‘melting’. The Singapore boutique had it replaced foc even though it’s 2+ years after purchase in Paris. The horrible thing is - the same thing happened again to the handles after a few months!
